Old Friendship Baptist Church

Aug 2, 2024

Dear Church Family and Friends,

Have you caught the vision for this great church? I am praying that August will be “Anointed August” in that God’s Spirit moves in a mighty way. Sometimes it’s hard to see ahead, and we are astounded at how fast time goes by. I can hardly believe that it’s time for school again, and especially that I have been here for four and a half months as Pastor!  Thank you for your sweet, welcoming spirit!

God has been at work here a long time. He has given us many blessings at Old Friendship. As in Bible times, He blesses His people to make them a blessing to others. This means that He desires that we see continued spiritual and numerical growth at OFBC! The excitement we all feel can only be sustained if we are obedient to the heavenly vision He has for us.

With all this in mind, please plug in and allow God to use you over these next crucial weeks.

We will preach a sermon series entitled “Our Hands for His Harvest.” Vision for the future, obedience in the present, and trust in the Lord, Who has always been faithful in the past, will all be themes throughout this study in Nehemiah and Luke 10.

Other important opportunities you will not want to miss include:

  • Pop Up (with Pop Tarts) Sunday in Sunday school this Sunday (Aug. 4)–includes promotion in Children’s Dept.
  • On Wednesday Nights in August
    • Launch of Team Kid in the Children’s Department (Discipleship and Missions)
    • Friends Don’t Let Friends Go to Hell emphasis in Youth Dept. with Pastor
    • Men’s Ministry special speakers
    • Women’s Ministry prayer study
  • New Equipping Now Old Friendship adult discipleship classes beginning September 11
    • What Every Christian Ought to Know Video series with Adrian Rogers
    • Making Disciples through Mentoringwith Pastor Ashley Ray
    • Other class(es) to be announced
  • Church-Wide Camp at Mid South Youth Camp September 13-15 (Sunday morning back at Old Friendship)

Dear Ones, come catch the vision with us!

Our Hands for His Harvest,

Dr. Ashley Ray

The harvest truly is great but the laborers are few, therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest (Luke 10:2).
